This past summer an unusual C. DREW hammer was offered at auction. To my knowledge, it was the only example of the type by this manufacturer to appear on Ebay during the past five years.
Ray Larsen identified tthe hammer as follows: "The hammer you have is a pin maul or shipwright's maul. There are still lots of these to be found in this area [Southeastern Massachusetts]. They were made in a variety of sizes."
These pin mauls were not offered by C. DREW & CO. in either their catalogues No. 34 or 36, published in the mid to late 1920s, and so presumably were manufactured prior to that period of time.
