Below is an aerial view of the C. DREW & CO. factory and mill pond, brought to my attention by Jan Guidoboni. It is thought to have been taken prior to World War II. The identity of the photographer is unknown. The photograph is located in the Local History Room of the Kingston Public Library, and is part of a collection of Kingston, Massachusetts photographs and ephemera bequeathed to the Library by Mitchell Toabe, who is perhaps best known as the founder of Toabe's Hardware stores.
This
photograph was apparently taken substantially later than the photo on the
homepage of this website (see http://www.numismalink.com/drew1.html);
the factory appears to be greatly increased in size, presumably to accommodate
a higher level of production and a larger workforce. The lack of smoke
coming from the smokestacks and the small number of vehicles in the parking
area suggests the possibility that the factory was closed on the day the
photograph was taken.
